Some good news and updates for Smashnet are well in order. First off, we managed to get rid of the extremely annoying pop-ups on the site. About time. Sakurai has stopped updating the official web site, so it's finally our turn to take over. We've got some new sections up; the most impressive of which is the Brawl & Melee Stages section which is complete. Other sections such as Unlockables, Trophies, etc., are also up, to help you get through the game. More content will be put up frequently, in between breaks from playing Brawl.
Well we're reaching the end of the year here, and Brawl is still a few months away. We've been keeping up to date with the updates. The music section is pretty popular especially becaus eyou can leave the songs playing in the background. There were also about 3 new Final Smashes added recently. The Dojo seems to have had some pretty boring updates lately. Most likely because the Brawl release date was pushed back, and now they need to fill in 3 extra months worth of updates. Hopefully they throw in a good one every once in a while, unless they're saving them all for the end...
It's great to see that the Smash Bros. Dojo has been consistently releasing exciting Brawl information. But what else can we expect for the best game ever!? Sonic being added to the character roster is a huge surpise for most people. He's an awesome addition and will surely be a fan favorite not only due to his popularity, but his speed as well. More recently Dedede was announced as playable, which is excellent news for Kirby fans. He omes in as a heavyweight character and he wields his versatile hammer. We've also added new sections for the comeback of the Target Smash! and Home-Run Contest modes in Brawl. THey're sure to be incredibly fun, especially since the Home-Run Contest makes use of the Wi-Fi connection, and you can beat on Sandbag with two players. We're going to have to wait until February 10th for the game though, but we'll see what new surprises Brawl has for us, in the coming months.
Excellent Brawl news has been handed to us this week. We finally get to see some in-game pictures of Snake, as he shows off his massive arsenal of weapons. Better yet, it was confirmed that Brawl will be featuring Wi-Fi Play, so you can play not only against your friends, but against the world, from the comfort of your home. This exciting new feature will surely have various modes and styles of play to choose from according to Sakurai. And lastly, check out the new Music section (bottom left) in which you can listen to Brawl music playing in the background over and over again!
It appears that even after all the speculation and the guessing, the Ice Climbers will in fact be in Brawl. That's pretty good news for Ice Climber fans who enjoyed playing as both Nana and Popo simultaneously in Melee. The Wii's enhanced graphical power will show small details, even each hair on their parkas. Also take a look at all the new stages that have been added lately. The Ice Climber bio will be on its way very soon. Stay tuned or more.
We've been keeping up with most of the many new and exciting updates lately. All the Final Smashes known so far are in order. Vej has written Diddy's bio - an awesome addition to Brawl I must say. And lastly, the newest Smash File has been posted in its section. Hopefully we'll get more Brawl details about the new Subspace Emissary Adventure Mode. Thank goodness a Smash game will finally feature some bosses. It's been long awaited, and it's sure to be amazing.
What can be more fun than stickers? Vej's 3 new character bios of course. They include the new Pokemon Trainer character who seems to have some pretty balanced Pokemon. Having to switch them out once in a while may be slow, but there's sure to be a lot of strategy with that move.
Some big Fire Emblem news near the end of this week included a new stage, and newcomer Ike to join the brawl. Vej has written character bios for Yoshi and DK, who are quite new to the game as well. In further news, Sakurai has released some strange information about a robust new adventure mode titled The Subspace Emissary. There are still many questions and very few answers, but we know that this side-scrolling action game will emphasize character development according to Sakurai. You can see a short clip on the official site, and you will also see Peach for the first time in Brawl.
Samus' Final Smash has been added in the Final Smashes section. The official site reveals that Samus' armour will fall off, and then you will be in control of Zero Suit Samus. I guess this means that Zero Suit Samus will probably not have a Final Smash.
Considering it's the weekend, there hasn't been very much information these past few days about Brawl. DK, the newest character addition to the Brawl roster, has been added. The ape looks bigger, faster, and stronger too. Haha. A most impressive addition would have to me the new Animal Crossing stage named Smashville by Sakurai. The stage looks pretty simple for smashers (always a good thing) as it's basically flat, with a single floating platform. However there are tons of hilarious things going on in the background. The time is synchronized with the Wii's internal clock, so on Saturday at 8pm there's a live concert! That's pretty insane. What an awesome idea for a stage. Be sure to check out the new Stages section in the left menu bar. It looks much more organized now.
